Job Description:
Your position is part of Treasury & Market Risk, a team of experts working together to provide clients with the financial and technical skills they need to manage their change-journey throughout its lifecycle, so that change is managed harmoniously across people, processes, and technology.

As part of the position, the successful candidate will assist clients with designing and implementing risk management and trading systems, Treasury, and measuring and improving risk and performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess regulatory risks, conduct specialised audits, and comply with risk management processes
  • Work closely with risk managers and senior analysts
  • Participate in project delivery, identifying requirements, taking into account stakeholder interests, regulatory restrictions, and potential weaknesses in existing processes by performing quality assurance checks
  • Provide adequate documentation of the methods and results for audits, audit risk committees, regulators, and other internal departments

Education:
  • BCom Honours in Finance / a Degree in a related field / Internal Auditing qualification; or
  • BSc degree in IT

Work Experience and Skills Required:
  • 8+ years of work experience
  • Advantageous: working experience in a bank / large insurer / audit or advisory firm
  • An understanding of the financial markets and instruments
  • Solid understanding of Treasury controls and frameworks
  • Understanding of and willingness to learn about Financial Services business processes
  • Be familiar with the regulatory frameworks within which financial entities operate, including FICA, Bank Act, and Financial Markets Act
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to new situations
  • Creating client reports that are accurate and concise
  • Work independently and contribute with minimal supervision
  • Initiator; self-starter; proactive
