About the Role
Our client, a prominent telecommunications company in Mpumalanga , located in Nelspruit , is seeking an accomplished Senior Telecommunications Engineer with specialized expertise in Wireless technologies . This pivotal role involves the design, implementation, and optimization of wireless networks, ensuring robust and high-performance connectivity solutions. You will contribute to critical projects that enhance mobile and fixed wireless services, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive technological innovation and maintain service excellence in a challenging and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable wireless network solutions , including cellular (4G/5G) and Wi-Fi infrastructure.
- Perform network planning, site acquisition support, and RF (Radio Frequency) design and optimization.
- Troubleshoot complex wireless network issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Evaluate emerging wireless technologies and make recommendations for adoption.
- Collaborate with hardware and software vendors to ensure seamless integration of new equipment and services.
- Develop technical specifications, documentation, and performance reports for wireless systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in telecommunications engineering , with a strong focus on wireless network design and optimization.
- In-depth knowledge of cellular technologies (LTE, 5G NR), RF principles, and spectrum management.
- Experience with wireless network planning tools (e.g., Planet, Atoll) and simulation software.
- Proficiency in analyzing network performance data and identifying areas for improvement.
- Strong understanding of related IP networking principles and protocols.
