Senior Fitter

Senior Fitter & Turner - Kimberley

Well established company in the meat industry, requires the services of a Senior Fitter and Turner to join their maintenance team (Abattoir) aged between 30 45 years.

Requirements:
Grade 12
N4 Certificate as well as Mechanical Trade test certificate (Fitter and Turner)
Preferably five (5) years post trade experience as a Fitter and Turner
Must be able to read, write and speak English and Afrikaans
Sound knowledge of mechanical and maintenance equipment on a Slaughter floor.
Sound mechanical and maintenance skills.
Well experienced in Environmental, Health & Safety and statutory compliance in an Abattoir environment
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and to carry out fabrications from drawings
Attention to detail and accuracy
Experience in water reticulation and purification required

Responsibilities:
Carry out planned mechanical maintenance and repairs to Slaughter floor equipment and Abattoir Plant;
Diagnose faults on plant and equipment to determine the faults and carry out repairs required;
Conduct root cause analysis on mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment;
Assist units with maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment and ensure compliance with statutory requirements;
Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Health Safety act.
Provide technical support to all staff

Salary:
Basic salary - R 25-30K; plus Provident fund (7.5%); Performance bonus; skilled artisan allowance.
