This could be longerPurpose of the RoleThe Despatch Clerk is responsible for ensuring accurate stock and crate movement from production through to the despatch of outbound trucks and the management of return logistics. The role requires accurate, timely, and efficient completion of all despatch documentation and transactional activities to support smooth operations and customer service.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and control stock movement from production to the despatch areaEnsure accurate loading and despatch of goods according to delivery schedulesManage crate movements, including issuing, receiving, and reconciling returnsPrepare, verify, and process all despatch documentation (delivery notes, load sheets, invoices, etc.)Capture and maintain accurate transactional data on the systemEnsure all paperwork is completed correctly, timeously, and filed appropriatelyLiaise with production, warehouse, and transport teams to resolve discrepanciesPerform daily stock and crate reconciliations and investigate variancesEnsure compliance with company procedures, food safety standards, and health & safety regulationsSupport continuous improvement initiatives within the despatch departmentEducation and QualificationsGrade 12 (Matric)Mathematics pass rate of 60% or higherExperience and TrainingPrevious experience working in a despatch or dispatch departmentFMCG industry experience is advantageousExperience working with JD Edwards (JDE) is advantageous
