About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Operations Manager to oversee and optimize agricultural operations at their facility in Rustenburg, North West . This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and profitable management of all farm activities, from crop cultivation and livestock care to resource allocation and staff supervision. You will be responsible for implementing best practices, driving productivity, and maintaining high standards of quality and sustainability across the farm. This is a hands-on leadership position for an individual passionate about agricultural excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage all day-to-day farming operations, including planting, cultivation, irrigation, and harvesting schedules.
- Oversee livestock management, ensuring animal health, welfare, and optimal productivity.
- Develop and manage the farm's budget, controlling expenses and ensuring profitability.
- Supervise, train, and motivate farm staff, fostering a productive and safe working environment.
- Implement and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental protocols across the farm.
- Manage the procurement of supplies, equipment, and machinery, ensuring efficient maintenance and utilization.
Requirements
- A relevant degree or diploma in Agriculture, Farm Management, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of proven experience in farm management or a similar operational leadership role.
- Demonstrated expertise in crop production, livestock management, and general farm operations.
- Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and cost control within an agricultural context.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
