Delivery Van Driver

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly growing e-commerce logistics firm, is looking for a diligent and efficient Delivery Van Driver to join their team in Cape Town . This hybrid role offers a blend of on-the-road responsibilities and flexible remote engagement, allowing for effective route planning and communication. You will be at the forefront of our delivery network, ensuring that customer orders are dispatched and delivered with speed and care. Key Responsibilities

• Operate a delivery van to transport goods and packages to customers across various locations in and around Cape Town .
• Plan daily routes using GPS and routing software to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
• Load and unload packages carefully, ensuring they are secured properly within the vehicle.
• Provide excellent customer service during delivery, handling inquiries and confirming successful receipt of goods.
• Conduct daily inspections of the delivery van, checking for maintenance issues and ensuring cleanliness and roadworthiness.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, including proof of delivery signatures and any discrepancies.
• Communicate effectivey with the dispatch team regarding route status, any delays, or delivery challenges.
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions, both virtually and in-person as required.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License (Code 10 or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role.
• Clean driving record with no major infringements.
• Familiarity with the Cape Town area and surrounding regions.
• Proficiency in using GPS navigation devices and mobile applications.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Must be reliable and punctual.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
