Role Purpose:

The Security Operations Centre (SOC) plays a critical role in safeguarding against security breaches, proactively identifying and mitigating risks. As a Security Specialist within the SOC team, you will be responsible for detecting, analyzing, and responding to cyber threats using established processes and security tools. The SOC team, consisting of various roles from managers to analysts, collaborates with IT teams to address security incidents swiftly, providing essential insights to identify potential security issues.

Role and Delivery Responsibilities:

  • Utilize expertise in network, endpoint, threat intelligence, forensics, and malware analysis
  • Take initiative in hunting for security incidents
  • Contribute to developing and implementing threat detection strategies
  • Act as an escalation point for SOC Analysts
  • Lead the incident response and resolution processes
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of security incidents
  • Provide guidance to junior team members
  • Utilize threat intelligence to identify impacted systems and potential attacks
  • Monitor and report on key metrics
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements
  • Support incident investigations

Person Requirements:

Experience:

  • Proficiency with SIEM Solutions such as QRadar, McAfee ESM, Azure Sentinel
  • Experience with Office 365, Active Directory, Azure, and Microsoft Exchange
  • Familiarity with Linux Operating systems
  • Knowledge of Nessus or Qualys
  • Understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework and ITIL Framework
  • Experience with support ticketing systems and meeting SLA targets
  • Skills in risk management and quality control
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Eligibility for National Security Clearance

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 completion
  • Certification in SIEM Technology
  • AZ500,SC100 qualifications
  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Technology
  • CompTIA certifications like A+, N+, S+
  • Preferably CompTIA CySa, CISSP, and CASP+ certifications
