Key Purpose

The main purpose of this role is to ensure products are implemented as designed and that administrative system values are actuarially sound, as well as using analytics skills to enhance retention and distribution strategies.

Key Output

The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following broad job functions:
  • Planning for new products, serving as the link between systems and actuarial & ensuring products are built as required
  • Active involvement in testing the implementation of new products or system changes- Particularly focusing on the accuracy of calculations and validations
  • Analyzing servicing scenarios and identifying possible constraints on product design
  • Ongoing involvement in addressing individual policy queries and issues
  • Assisting with ad-hoc investigations and analyses including quantifying the financial impact of possible misalignment of actuarial specification and system implementation
  • Applying actuarial knowledge to solve non-standard problems
  • Enhancing retention and distribution strategies using data analytics skills
  • Be involved in developing new innovative product ideas and analysing experience to aid the pricing team
  • Building MI data visualisation dashboards to help senior management making decisions affecting retention and distribution strategies

Essential
  • MS Excel - Proficient

Qualifications and Experience
  • Making good progress with actuarial exams and preferably the candidate will have all his/ her CT's (A100/200's for ASSA) or one exam outstanding or recently qualified. Previous systems work or software testing/ coding experience.
  • Invest and/or Life insurance 1 - 5 years' industry experience
  • Previous systems work or software testing/ coding experience
  • Industry experience applying ML/ regression models in analytics
