Required Skills and Competencies

Experience in formulating regional strategies and capacity-building work within member states and expert institutions.
Ability to identify key strategic issues, opportunities, and risks.
Ability to generate and communicate broad and compelling organizational direction.
Ability to communicate links between the Organization's strategy and the Division's goals.
Establish and maintain relationships with a broad range of people to understand needs and gain support.
Anticipate and resolve conflicts by pursuing mutually agreeable solutions and consistently drive for change and improvements.
Strong knowledge and understanding of the African development dynamic, the African Union and AUDA-NEPAD.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead teams to deliver solutions and solve organisational challenges while drawing on global best practices in the discipline.

Education and Experience:
A Master's degree in Public Policy, International Relations, Management, Business Management, Gender Studies, Youth Empowerment, Education, Social Science, or a related field with ten (10) years of work experience in leading a function related to the management of capacity-building and technical assistance projects or a related area within the public sector, multilateral institutions, and international non-governmental or similar organizations nationally, regionally and/or internationally.

Or
A Bachelor's degree in the above-specified fields and twelve (12) years of work experience in leading a function related to the management of capacity-building and technical assistance projects or a related area of which five (5) years should be at a managerial level within the public sector, multilateral institutions, and international non-governmental or similar organizations nationally, regionally and/or internationally.
Additionally, candidates must have at least ten (10) years of progressive experience in managing a team of professionals or consultants.
