Purpose of the Job:

Substation and Overhead Power Line Civil Designs. Including Earthwork designs.
Roads and Building Design.

Key Performance Areas (KPA's):
Produce engineering designs (greenfield or brownfield) that details all the technical features, offering innovation and optimization whilst mitigating project design or execution risks.
Conceptualize the design and assist with discussions with the client for first approval or gain buy-in.
Suggest designs that will meet clients' requirements with minimum costs.
Further develop Preliminary, and Detail Details whilst assisting in the approval process and client delivery expectations.
Validate all design aspects and processes of all designs.
Proficient in Civil design software (Prokon, Model Maker and Road Maker) and draughting software (Autocad, Microstation).
Leverages experience by mentoring and supporting training of juniors, Engineers in training and Technicians in training.
Responsible to identify business leads, and opportunities for work, to create Sourcing of Work.
Adjudication of tenders and management of sub-contractors.

Minimum Requirements:
BSC/BEng Engineering or B Tech in Civil Engineering.
Professional registration with ECSA is preferred.
Overhead Power Lines Design experience and high voltage substations.

Other competencies and requirements:
3-5 years' experience high voltage substations and/or overhead line Civil.
