CAPITAL ASSISTANT, C1:
COAL SOUTH AFRICA, KHWEZELA COMPLEX, LIFEX PROJECT MPUMALANGA

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL (18 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT)

The role:


The incumbent will be responsible for controlling expenditure on capital projects, accurately forecasting over-expenditure and taking proactive measures to avoid it.

The main responsibilities for this position will be but not limited to:

Uploading of project estimates (FEC) in ellipse projects for all the QS contractors (Venn & Milford), timely amendments to project costs, CAS and commitment values
Accurately forecast over-expenditure and effectively control the costs
Overall project cost maintenance including the creation of new project estimates and the movement of money between estimates
CAS closures
Creation of contract authorization summary (CAS) documents for projects that Venn & Milford doesn't work
Allocating costs with long form and short form journals
Weekly Capital cash flow forecast to Cashbooks to ensure that sufficient funds are available for capital payments
Ensure accuracy of the contract system
Creation of RTO's and follow up with the issuing of order numbers
Issuing of work order numbers
Order control
Ensure proper approval and signatures were received for invoices with a high monetary value
Accurate and timely processing of contract, order and non-order invoices
Understand the use of retention and be able to retain and release retention
Performing General ledger reconciliations Interpret Capital reports for Engineering managers
Printing ellipse project reports for monthly Capex meetings and attending these meetings
Provide project information for review that is complete and accurate standardize capital reporting procedures across collieries and monitor compliance to these
Ensure the preservation of important documents

Requirements:
Matric
Diploma / Degree in Finance or Office Administration (NQF Level 5) will be advantageous
AA plc Safety &

Risk Management Course:
A2
Valid drivers' licence (code 08)
3 – 5 years' experience in accounting
