Job Description:

Safety:
  • Adhere to all safety related requirements, policies, standards, and practices internally and on customers sites.
  • Complete the permit to work and perform risk assessment on customers sites, mitigate the risks, and escalate to either customer or immediate superior to take corrective action prior to commencing any work.

Operational:
  • Execute the preventive maintenance of equipment supported by the company at the customers sites according to service level agreements.
  • Execute repairs and attend to breakdowns of equipment supported by company at the customers locations.
  • Perform all tasks relating to the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Provide face to face and remote technical support to customers to ensure optimum uptime of customers equipment supported by the company
  • Conduct trouble shooting to ensure root causes are correctly identified and the most cost-effective solutions are implemented to achieve maximum uptime of equipment and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyse the performance and condition of customers equipment and cost of repairs and advise
    customers on the most effective solutions to minimize costs and total cost of production.
  • Promote new technology and engage the Sales department where new sales are applicable.
  • Write SLA and Service Trail reports to keep customers and managers informed of work done, condition of equipment and next service due.
  • Develop early warning systems to report on technical issues on all equipment supported by the company
  • Collect customer data and compile service trail reports to ensure accuracy of equipment database,
    monitoring of equipment movement, and planning of upcoming maintenance, service, sales or administration activities for the region
  • Provide technical training and coaching to customers to optimize equipment utilization and trainee engineers within the company to build skill set and competence.
    Adhere to Operational Excellence best practices requirements to ensure improvement goals are
    achieved.

Finance:
  • Provide quotations for equipment repairs and engage the Sales department where new sales are more feasible than repairs.
  • Ensure boot stock is managed within the set limit to achieve the business requirements, minimize losses and risks, manage stock rotation/aging and satisfy customer demands and requirements.
  • Adhere to the quotation procedure of the Company and engage with customers prior to commencing any work to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Adhere to all service billing requirements to provide accurate invoicing according to customers requests and requirements.
  • Manage own performance to achieve the agreed personal KPIs and targets.
  • Obtain purchase orders for all work, prior to commencement.

Client Relations:
  • Maintain the key customer relationships to achieve customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Resolve customer complaints and escalate unresolved complaints to the Senior Service Engineer.
  • Monitor customer usage patterns and trends, develop early warning systems and report on variations

Job Requirements:

  • Matric
  • N4 Technical qualification as a minimum for entry
  • At least 5 years as a qualified artisan in electrical or electronics
  • Full understanding of company product range
  • Full understanding of the theory of operation of the broad range of technology supported by the company.
  • Customer value chain
  • Understand the IT requirements of company products
  • Application of MS office
  • Understand the functionality of the JD Edwards ERP
  • system
  • Understand the customer install base
  • Understand the functioning of the equipment and manufacturing processes of customers.
  • Understand the maintenance principles for the company product range.
