Job Overview
The primary purpose of the job as a Turbocharger Engineer is to be responsible for all aspects of the repair, installation, and maintenance of turbochargers.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assembly and Disassembly
Assembly and disassembly of turbochargers and turbocharger components and all associated processes for repair, maintenance, and installation, whilst in the workshop or at the job site.
Skilled in the use of metric and imperial measuring tools, such as Verniers, callipers, micrometres, gauges, etc., and display a high degree of accuracy.
Thorough cleaning of turbocharger and turbocharger components, ensuring the integrity of the components material and dimension.
Knowledge and skill in operating rotating machinery, such as balancing machines, lathes, drills, boring machines correctly and safely, working with close tolerances.
Evaluating/reporting on the repairs that need to be completed and/or spare parts that need to be ordered.
  • Liaise with Customers, Suppliers & 3rd Parties
Achieve great customer satisfaction through quick response and execution of requirements.
Provide advice and assistance to the customers on technical issues related to turbochargers and their components, with the ability to troubleshoot and provide information for reports.
Establish customer relationships and maintain them at a high level.
Ensure all relevant documents are received after job execution to finalize costs.
  • Workshop
Ensures that the workshop machines are clean and maintained per the manufacturers instructions with records of inspections and work performed.
Maintains control of all special and hand tooling, slings, lifting, and safety equipment to ensure that they are in good order.
Ensures the cleanliness and upkeep of the workshop and on job sites.
  • Ad hoc duties
Ensure that all activities are per corporate regulations and policies, code of conduct, and applicable law.
Ensure that health & safety requirements are met and adhered to.

Minimum Requirements
  • MUST have Marine Sales experience.
  • Knowledge of various kinds of marine turbochargers.
  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Qualified Artisan (Diesel Fitter/ Mechanic/ Mechatronics).
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Note: Salary will be determined based on experience and skill level.
