Purpose Of Position:

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented PMO Intern who will be a key part of their Project Management Office (PMO) team. The intern will play a crucial role in supporting a range of project management activities, including but not limited to the coordination, planning, and execution of IT projects. This position offers a valuable opportunity for gaining practical experience in project management in a dynamic and fast-paced IT setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Support:

  • Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of IT projects.
  • Support project managers in creating and maintaining project documentation, such as project plans, schedules, and status reports.
  • Help track project milestones, RAID items, budget and deliverables.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare and update project documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in generating project status reports and dashboards for senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain project records and ensure proper documentation of project changes and updates.

Meeting Coordination:

  • Schedule and coordinate project meetings, including preparing agendas and taking meeting minutes.
  • Follow up on action items and ensure timely completion of tasks assigned during meetings.

Process Improvement:

  • Support the development and implementation of PMO processes and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to process optimization initiatives.

Communication:

  • Facilitate effective communication among project team members, stakeholders, and management.
  • Assist in managing project-related communications, ensuring stakeholders are informed about project progress and issues.

Tools and Software:

  • Utilize project management tools and software (Autotask, Celoxis) to support project tracking and reporting.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the PMO’s project management tools and templates.

CORE COMPETENCIES:

Essential:

  • Basic understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced IT environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Beneficial:

  • Familiarity with project management tools (Autotask, Celoxis) is a plus.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a diploma/degree in Project Management

Beneficial:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a certification/qualification in the IT field
