Experience & Qualification:- Grade 12 and/or N2 (NQF Lev 3).
- Certificated Fitter or Diesel Mechanic Trade Test.
- 5 - 10 years underground experience on trackless machinery.
- Must have own transport and a valid SA drivers license.
- Good general health AND a certificate of fitness (Red Ticket).
- Sound planning (time management), and organisational abilities.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize.
- Good customer and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to function on your own and within a team.
- Independent, self-motivated, proactive thinking.
- Ability to communicate in English (written & verbal) and one other official language.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure that a good standard of safety awareness is maintained.
- Ensure that section personnel comply with the required Health and Safety and Environmental standards.
- Ensure good housekeeping standards and maintenance.
- Daily, Weekly and Monthly inspections to be done.
- Maintenance on all machinery underground.
- Ensure that condition monitoring of equipment, scheduled and planned maintenance are conducted effectively.
- Timely response to breakdown management, conduct appropriate root cause analysis and diagnosis.
- Conduct expansions and construction of new equipment or installations as per works order.
- Identify spares requirements.
- Must be able to work overtime when required.
