About the Role:

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Reporting Accountant to join a dynamic property development company in Greenpoint, Cape Town. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial control and reporting functions within a forward-thinking team. As a Reporting Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, while also engaging in strategic business partnering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Control & Reporting: Take ownership of financial information prepared by other departments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.
  • Monthly Reporting: Prepare detailed monthly reports comparing budgets to actual performance.
  • Management Accounts: Develop and maintain monthly management accounts.
  • Shareholders Pack: Compile and prepare comprehensive shareholder packs.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment and resolve discrepancies.
  • Detail-Oriented: Dive deep into financial details to ensure thorough and precise reporting.
  • Communication: Facilitate and manage conversations around financial discrepancies and ensure corrective measures are implemented.

Candidate Profile:

  • Location: Must be based in Cape Town.
  • Experience: Proven experience in comparing budgets to actuals, preparing management accounts, and creating shareholder packs.
  • Industry Knowledge: Construction industry experience is advantageous but not required; on-the-job experience is valued.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive and challenging discussions effectively.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work full-time in the office with flexibility in start times (standard hours are 8am - 5pm, but early starts can be accommodated).
