Our client, a managed care organisation based in Pretoria is looking for a Junior Marketing and Communication Officer.

This is an equal opportunity organisation with various businesses and/ or subsidiaries that service clients in the medical scheme and insurance industries.


Reporting to:
Head of Marketing and Communication

Hours: 8 Hours per day, 40 Hours per week

Location:
Head Office, Pretoria

Job Purpose


The Communications and Marketing Officer will play a key role in enhancing and supporting our various clients' brand presence and ensuring effective communication with their members and key stakeholders in the health and wellness and financial services sectors.

This position will require and innovative professional who can craft compelling messages, manage diverse marketing campaigns, and contribute to our mission of promoting health and wellness, and making quality private healthcare accessible.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Marketing Strategy Implementation

  • Assist in the implementation of marketing strategies. Work under the guidance of the Head of
Marketing and Communication to align these strategies with the organization's overall business

objectives.

2. Campaign Management

  • Support the planning and execution of targeted marketing and communication campaign aimed at increasing membership and promoting specific health programs.

3. Content Creation and Management

  • Assist in the creation of engaging and informative content across different media such as newsletters, brochures, posters etc. Produce and edit marketing and communication content, including digital content, brochures, and presentations. Ensure all content is aligned with brand guidelines and regulation.

4. Digital Marketing

  • Manage our digital marketing efforts, including SEO, and social media marketing, to enhance online
visibility and member engagement. Maintain and update the social media profiles, including

scheduling posts, engaging with followers, and analysing performance.

5. Event Marketing

  • Assist in organizing and managing events that aim to engage current and potential members as well as other key stakeholders. Develop event promotional materials, logístical planning document, event feedback summaries and participant engagement reports.

6. Market Research

  • Conduct market research to understand the needs and preferences of current and prospective members. Gather data on industry trends and competitor strategies.

7. Stakeholder Communication

  • Maintain effective communication with all key stakeholders to ensure their needs are met and to foster strong relationships.

8. Reporting and Analytics

  • Monitor, analyze and report on the performance of marketing activities using key metrics to assess the effectiveness of different strategies and initiatives.

9. Collaboration and Support

  • Collaborate with other department to ensure cohesive messaging across all marketing and
communications channels. Support other internal stakeholders by providing marketing materials and insights as needed.

10. Internal Communication

  • Assist in developing and disseminating internal communications that keep staff informed of organizational initiatives, changes, and successes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
  • 12 years' experience in a communications role, with a preference for backgrounds in healthcare or insurance.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, proficiency in additional South African languages

  • Understanding of digital marketing and social media platforms.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
