To build a more agile and resilient Supply Chain the commoditized execution and digitalization of processes is a key focus whilst driving operational excellence.


The Capital & Project Procurement team is responsible to develop the overall strategy and framework that will govern planning and execution of capital expenditure within the AA Group.

The team works to integrate the Regional Commercial teams (in particular Project Procurement), Global and Regional Category Management, Inclusive Procurement, Physical Supply Chain and the Centre of Excellence, as well as other stakeholders such as Technical & Sustainability and Corporate Finance, to deliver a globally integrated Capex value creation strategy that supports successful delivery of capital projects across the AA Group and achieve the AA Group's ambition to be the most valued mining company in the eyes of all stakeholders.


The Project Supply Chain Manager is dedicated to a Portfolio of Projects or a Major Greenfields Project, manages the interface between Supply Chain and the Project/BU, and will interact extensively with Project/BU representatives as well as other Supply Chain teams.

This role will ensure that business and/or project needs and priorities are understood and reflected in Supply Chain plans and priorities, provide Supply Chain representation and leadership at a Project & BU level, facilitate resolution of issues, and drive continuous improvement to enable the delivery of business ambitions and value for the asset.


The Project Supply Chain Manager is an integrated part of a Project Team and will oversee all Supply Chain activities (commercial, procurement, inventory, warehouse & logistics management as well as supplier relationships and systems) to deliver Supply Chain Excellence.


Job Description:

  • Lead the Supply Chain Project team and procurement activities though project delivery, operational readiness planning and operationalisation to deliver Supply Chain excellence ensuring a safe, effective, and efficient Supply Chain.

Key tasks will include:

  • Performance & Delivery _
  • Lead the Project Procurement activities (e.g strategy, work packages).
  • Oversee a portfolio of Projects by providing strategic inputs, leveraging global and regional commercial capability and integrating Supply Chain disciplines.
  • Accountable for the management and continuous improvement of the Supply Chain function.
  • Foster collaborative relationships across the Supply Chain teams, internal business partners as well as with external stakeholders.
  • Interface Management _
  • Provide strong Supply Chain leadership at an asset/project level to the Project Director and Heads of Department.
  • Ensure cross collaboration between internal and external stakeholders and act as a single point of contact to resolve complex Supply Chain issues and escalations.
  • Drive the implementation of new waysofworking that support leading practice and continuous improvement.
  • Supply Chain Establishment _
  • As an integrated member of the Project Team, lead the interface between Supply Chain and the Project.
  • Oversee the establishment of the Supply Cain function covering all procurements activities; inventory, warehouse & logistics management as well as supplier relationships.
  • Responsible for providing asset/project specific inputs to global, regional and BU strategies, targets and plans and ensuring overall asset priorities and objectives are translated.
  • Operational Readiness _
  • Own the development of the Supply Chain Operational Readiness Plan (ORP) in support of the larger project and asset operationalization.
  • Develop appropriate guidelines for effective Operational Readiness planning, and ensure that these plans are appropriately addressed in project execution plans.
  • Support strong connectivity with regional materials management and warehousing teams by ensuring alignment on future demand requirements and working capital optimization opportunities has been considered in the project execution plans.
