The Role
Successful delivery of key projects within the Project Management Office. Responsible for leading the day-to-day stakeholder engagement, business transformation and technical change management.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, management, leadership, stakeholders, and financial control of all projects within the area and team.

The Project Manager will work with senior stakeholders from all relevant business teams to successfully deliver key strategic projects.

Skills and Experience

Minimum:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in leading and managing multiple medium to large projects on an endtoend basis under tight deadlines.
  • A proven track record indicating budget management experience in projects ranging between R and R
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees
  • Selfmotivated with high levels of energy and enthusiasm, fuelled by a drive to achieve customer satisfaction
  • Excellent Time Management skills
  • Automation/mechanisation/engineering exposure beneficial
  • Knowledge/experience of software development life cycles and methodology in an agile environment advantageous
  • Knowledge and experience in the logistics and lastmile distribution industry preferable
  • Knowledge and experience within the 3PL industry advantageous

Key Accountabilities

  • Attend divisional and client meetings and assist with the determination of project requirements
  • Define each project and ensure the project covers all aspects, such as objectives, scope, risk, constraints, resourcing, and timelines
  • Set up the initial project budget and get the approval of the Project Charter and required project documentation
  • Coordinate project activities and update project plans
  • Ensure that the designated Project team for a project has a clear understanding of their individual roles and responsibilities
  • Manage scope and change control
  • Monitor and manage expectations of projects
  • Manage the company's risk exposure through the identification and maintenance of risk control measures to minimise liability and escalate issues for attention to relevant stakeholders
  • Prepare correspondence, presentations and reports as required or set out as part of the Project Management Office or Strategy Office governance
  • Followup on correspondence and outstanding requests for resolution
  • Coordinate and chair Project Team meetings as well as potential Client and Vendor meetings
  • Ensure regular feedback sessions are given to required parties. i.e., steering committee, project team, client, etc.
, to review, amongst others:

  • Budget vs expenditure, scope changes, general project status, resourcing, and risk issues
  • Deadlines (includes Owner and Sponsor) and associated decisions and actions
  • Issues that may impact client relations
  • Conduct postimplementation reviews and adjust standards accordingly
  • Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude
  • Adherence to operational Health and Safety statutory compliance
  • Perform other duties as and when requested by the Department Manager or Executive within their area of responsibilities

  • Project Management Professional Certification
  • PMP or equivalent advantageous


 SCRUM Master Certification
