Cost & Budget Accountant: responsible for overseeing group cost management and budget controls. Working collaboratively with stakeholders to establish company goals and budgets. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, professional, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

The main role is to evaluate business costs and budgets in the mining industry. By assessing a company's cost structure, management can enhance operations and drive efficient innovations. Managing costs within the Group, tracking, analyzing, and reporting expenses is vital for decision-making, budgeting, and financial planning.

Key Deliverables:

  • Cost Analysis: Assessing various costs related to goods and services.
  • Cost Allocation: Distributing costs to products, projects, or departments.
  • Budget Control: Creating and monitoring budgets.
  • Cost Control: Implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Pricing Analysis: Analyzing product prices and profitability impact.
  • Financials: Compiling cost reports to understand the company's cost structure.
  • Inventory Management: Evaluating and managing inventory effectively.
  • Analysis Support: Providing data for strategic decisions.
  • Compliance: Ensuring adherence to cost accounting standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Initiating improvement processes.
  • Accounting Policies and Procedures: Developing and maintaining cost accounting policies.
  • Reports: Establishing cost and budget data reports.

Teamwork and Self-Management:

Consistently meeting quality and productivity standards. Adhering to company cost procedures and policies. Planning, prioritizing, and managing change effectively. Collaborating across teams and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Cost Accounting.
  • 5+ years of experience in cost and budget accounting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of financial policies and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

General:

Applicant must be located in the Brits area, a South African citizen with a valid driver's license and own transport.
