RESIDENT PSYCHOMETRIST

(PERMANENT)

JOB PURPOSE
To manage, implement, monitor and review career development support and counselling services offered in the Career Centre.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Administer, score, interpret, generate client reports, and deliver assessment feedback to clients.
  • Quality assure psychometric assessments outputs and processes and ensure that they comply with the guidelines of the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  • Maintain strict protocols for client records including but not limited to consent forms, process notes, client test results in line with the HPCSA regulations - record keeping system.
  • Supervise Psychometrics Interns, induct, train and quality assure their inputs, throughput, and outputs with regards to assessment procedures, processes, and procedures as well test library protocols, administration, scoring, and report writing in line with the Health Professions Council of South Africa's ethical guidelines.
  • Participate in the design, monitoring and evaluation of psychometric assessment activities and other psychological services programmes.
  • Contribute to the supervision and professional training of Educational Psychology interns under the guidance of the Resident Psychologist.
  • Identify own training needs for professional (CPD) and personal development in order to maintain professional standing with the HPCSA.
  • Submit quarterly Psychometrics interns' progress report to the training institution.
  • Participate in the design, monitoring, and evaluation of the psychometrics practicum programme.
  • Provide career counselling services to diverse clients.
  • Design, develop and deliver career development workshops for unemployed youth.
  • Control stock and inventories of career material and content available with Career Centre Administrator.
  • Build a bridge between the Career Centre and other departments in Sci-Bono in order to provide services in a seamless and coherent manner as well as optimize workflow.
  • Project a professional disposition in and outside Sci-Bono.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • B Psych Degree.
  • Registration as a Psychometrist (Independent Practice) with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of four (4) years' experience as practicing Psychometrist in a supervisory role in a context similar to the Career Centre.
  • Three (3) years' experience in the delivery of a wide range of psychometric and other career assessments.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • Knowledge, experience and skills in the administration and integration of a wide range of psychometric assessment instruments, including the utilization of computerized and internetbased assessment systems.
  • Highlevel verbal and nonverbal communication, facilitation, report writing, presentation, content mediation skills.
  • Ability to manage a team of Psychometrics interns.
  • Project and program management skills, logistics, planning and organising.
  • Detail conscious, attention to detail is critical.
  • Ability to manage stress and meet deadlines.
  • Selfmanaged, selfregulated with mínimal supervision.
  • Stakeholder, client, staff and supplier relationship management skills.
  • High propensity to share knowledge across teams and stakeholders clients, parents, Career Centre team.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Sound consulting skills and ability to communicate the value proposition of the services rendered and the benefits to Sci-Bono as well as other entities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of intern supervision principles and processes, adhere to the ethical principles as prescribed by the HPCSA.
  • Excellent computing skills, including the MS Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Drivers' license.
