Purpose of the Job

The Debtors Recon Clerk accurately processes and effectively reconciles complex trade debtors' accounts and provides administrative support to the finance function. This role involves collecting debt, applying financial reconciliation knowledge to assist in recovering outstanding debt, and liaising with debtors.

Job Objectives

  • Account for and reconcile all debtor transactions within the payment term period.
  • Ensure timely and accurate capture of debtors' transactional data into the ledger.
  • Follow up on outstanding payments outside normal terms.
  • Identify and allocate liable accounts.
  • Review Month-Age Analysis and take corrective measures.
  • Properly record transactions in the accounting system.
  • Maintain financial files and records.
  • Support customers with inquiries.

Qualifications

National Diploma in Financial Accounting or related field (essential).

Experience

  • +1 years' experience as a Debtors' Reconciliation Clerk or similar role with knowledge of reconciling accounts and processing complex recon data (essential).
  • Practical experience and knowledge of Debtors Accounting principles (essential).
  • Strong understanding of client care.
  • Experience with SAP Finance (desired).
  • Understanding of accounting and mathematics.
  • Knowledge of O365 and Microsoft Excel (essential).
