Minimum requirements for the role:
  • Must have a professional registration (CA(SA))
  • A relevant post graduate qualification or MBA would be an added advantage
  • Minimum 10 years experience in a similar financial role is essential
  • Previous experience in the agricultural sector will be advantageous
  • Must have knowledge of the Companies Acts, tax legislation and regulations
  • A sound understanding of IFRS requirements will be necessary
  • Previous involvement in finance transformation and project management will be beneficial
  • Prior experience in mergers and acquisitions will be helpful
  • Engagement with financiers on debt structuring will be ideal

Responsibilities of the successful candidate:
  • Accurate and timely reporting of the financial performance of The Co-op
  • Ensuring The Co-op meets its financial commitments and manages cash flow efficiently
  • Assisting The Co-op in maximizing return on capital investment
  • Providing strategic financial input to the Chief Executive Officer
  • To successfully execute and implement transactions
  • Ensuring the maintenance of an effective financial control environment
