Hire Resolve's client, a leading IT consulting firm, is currently seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to join their team in the Desktop support role. As an IT Support Engineer - Desktop, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users, primarily focused on desktops and end-user devices. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of desktop systems and applications.

In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing and configuring software and hardware for end-users, and providing excellent customer service and support. You will collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex technical issues and participate in various IT projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users primarily focusing on desktop systems and applications.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop systems, software applications, and peripherals.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Participate in IT projects and initiatives, including hardware and software upgrades.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining IT policies and procedures related to desktop support.
  • Ensure all incidents and requests are logged, tracked, and resolved within designated SLAs.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on the effective use of desktop systems and software applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a desktop support role.
  • Experience with troubleshooting desktop hardware and software issues.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with desktop imaging and deployment tools.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with other IT teams.
  • Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate are a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) is a plus.
