Financial and Governance Officer

Experience and Qualifications

  • 10 years' experience in a similar environment
BCom Accounting Degree or another relevant area of study

Experience working with Pastel Partner

Own Transport

Ability to work both in the office and remotely (Hybrid)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Reliable and Diligent

Accounting Functions

  • Assist with all account queries
  • Debt collection from members
  • Invoice members on a monthly basis
  • Reconciling of expenses and subsequent payments
  • Submit collections on a monthly basis
  • Ensuring that office insurance is adequate
  • Compile monthly management reports
  • Prepare monthly membership reports and FINCO reports
  • Report to management and FINCO on accounts and members
  • Compile annual financial statements and assist in the audit process
  • Ensuring staff files are complete
  • Prepare salaries on a monthly basis
  • Compile salary reports
  • Submit all SARS required documentation
  • PAYE, SDL, UIF
  • Submit EMP501 reports twice a year
  • Submit annual Workman's compensation
  • Compiling and managing budgets
  • Ensuring that the BEE certificate is updated
  • Manage Directors insurance
  • Submit annual tax return

Corporate Governance

  • Assist with Corporate Governance Procedures
  • Ensuring CIPC is uptodate and accurate
  • Reporting on members and finances at FINCO, EXCO, and Board level
  • Ensure compliance with Governance procedures relative to the company's acts and memorandum of incorporation i.e., submission dates

Membership Administration

  • Maintaining and updating the member database
  • Keep CRM up to date by capturing new member details and/or cancellations of members and/or changes
  • Issuing certificates (at end of the year to all members and during the year when registering)
  • Managing big member relationships
  • Assisting in communication with members
  • Monthly reconciliation between CRM and Pastel

Operational Support

  • Assisting with membership services
  • Assisting with member events
  • Updating and filing of stakeholder information
  • Managing several information channels
  • Assisting with the POPIA Compliance process
  • Assisting with member and stakeholder research
  • Assist with updating and maintaining administrative programs
