Job Purpose:


Bidvest International Logistics (BIL), Pretoria is looking to build a group of skilled Workshop Technician in order to successfully win an exciting tender for a world-renowned automotive manufacturer.

The position will focus on all service and repair jobs including any other facility duties as required. The workshop technician will report to the Facility Manager.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Senior certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
  • Valid Code 08 Drivers License.
- +/-2 years' experience in Automotive Manufacturing Industry.

  • 5+years' experience as a Mechanic/ Technician
  • BSc/N6/ BEng Mechanical Engineering
  • Trade in Motor Mechanic
  • 2+ years as a Master Mechanic will be an added advantage

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quick response to Customer queries and resolving thereof.
  • Order necessary parts from the Parts Department counter or parts warehouse.
  • Report and inspect faults detected other than those that have been presented or other needs for repair/ replacements to the Workshop Supervisor.
  • Quote on all defects on the vehicle and inform of items which may require attention in the future, including panel outwork and tyres windscreens.
  • Complete of the service schedules attached to job card according to manufacturer's requirements.
  • Perform test drive to ensure work is completed correctly prior to handing to Workshop Supervisor for final inspection.
  • Repair customer vehicles as per requirement by client.
  • Ensure compliance to good hygiene and housekeeping disciplines within all areas under responsibilities.
  • Ensure only vehicles that have approval to be worked on is parked within the facility.
  • Carry out general maintenance tasks at the workshop.
  • Ensure & maintain high level of Inventory accuracy of all items required for completion of duties.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are followed as per the customer expectation.
  • Report of any incident/deviations as and when it happens.
  • Completion job cards.,
