Vikela's core business is the management, storage, and distribution of promotional material (POS).

We are in search of a person who will be overall in charge of the Warehouse in our Cape Town branch, in managing the warehouse and warehouse employees optimally to ensure maximum revenue for the business.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establishes area that requires prioritization, in line with customer demands.
  • Plan, manage and monitor initiatives to ensure customer service excellence.
  • Define standard operating procedures and implement and manage endtoend processes.
  • Manage operational risk and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on progress against operational plans and adjust where required.
  • Ensures that transport is arranged for warehousing purposes.
  • Makes sure loading process is completed on time, as per the service level agreements.
  • Checks on a daily basis that staff on duty are working according to the company's requirements.
  • Identifies areas of concern and address with staff. Resolve staff queries and problematic areas efficiently.
  • Reports daily/weekly/as per requirement to Regional Management regarding activities and operations.
  • Reports on the cost factors of the job actual cost vs. budget.
  • Submits a monthly report of the branch's expenses and profitability amongst other areas.
  • Collaborates detail for month end report and presents to Regional Management.
  • Checks that budgeting information is completed and communicated to HOD.
  • Monitors timekeeping, service delivery and product integrity.
  • Manage the Stock Control process.
  • Manage the Stock Picking process.
  • Manage the Stock Receiving process.
  • Review and manage the stock load plan.
  • Create an engaging, enabling, and productive work climate aligned to the employee value proposition by demonstrating leadership through personal commitment to organizational values.
  • Ensure optimal housekeeping of warehouse, i.e. cleanliness, basic maintenance, adherence to health and safety requirements.

MIMIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Completed Matric / Similar Qualification (nonnegotiable)
  • A relevant tertiary qualification, i.e. Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Inventory or any Warehousing related qualification (Essential)
  • SAP and/or Warehouse Stock Inventory System knowledge (Essential)
  • Have a minimum of 10 years warehouse supervision and management experience in a senior role in a Warehousing environment
  • Knowledge of good Warehousing and Distribution Practices
  • Understanding of OHS and QMS requirements
  • Have experience in managing a workforce of at least 12 subordinates
  • Have a valid RSA drivers license and own reliable transport (Essential)
  • Have at least two contactable references
