The role of Senior Director, Mergers and Acquisitions takes responsibility for leading the strategic planning, execution, and integration of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate transactions within NTT Ltd.

This role may operate at a global or regional level and takes strategic guidance from Executive/Senior Leadership within NTT Ltd and plays a critical role in driving growth, expansion, and value creation through effective deal-making and post-transaction integration.


This is a highly strategic role that is responsible for providing support to the Executive and other Senior Leadership team in the making of decisions for strategic investment.


This role plays a pivotal role in shaping NTT's growth strategy through effective identification, evaluation, negotiation, and execution of mergers and acquisitions.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manages development and implementation of NTT's MandA strategy aligned with overall business objectives for region / business area.
  • Provide strategic guidance to the executive team regarding potential MandA opportunities and their impact on the organisation.
  • Leads crossfunctional teams involved in MandA activities, ensuring effective collaboration and performance.
  • Manages identification and evaluation of potential acquisition targets, partnerships, or divestiture opportunities that align with the company's growth strategy.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, due diligence, and risk assessments to evaluate the viability and value of potential transactions.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and the board of directors for decisionmaking.
  • Negotiates with counterparties including pricing, valuation, payment structures, and contractual terms.
  • Develop creative deal structures that maximize value while managing risk and aligning with the company's strategic goals.
  • Coordinates due diligence processes, involving legal, financial, operational, and other functional teams.
  • Ensure that all aspects of due diligence are conducted thoroughly and efficiently to uncover potential risks and opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders, including executives, board members, and functional leaders. Manage external relationships with advisors, bankers, legal counsel, regulatory bodies, and potential partners.
  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with MandA transactions, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Oversee compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical considerations throughout the MandA process.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging market opportunities that could impact MandA strategies.
  • Oversees the market analysis, monitors competitive activity, evolution of technologies, and identifies customer needs to address appropriate target segments and companies
  • Develop detailed financial models, valuation analyses, and forecasts to support investment decisions and business cases.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management, board members, and investors.
  • Effectively communicate MandA strategies, progress, and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders. Presents complex financial and strategic information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and industryspecific requirements related to MandA activities. Collaborates with legal teams to navigate complex regulatory environments.
  • May manage and drive postmergerintegrations

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent understanding of financial modelling, valuation techniques, and due diligence processes to assess the financial aspects of potential deals accurately on a regional scale
  • Excellent understanding relevant legal and regulatory frameworks associated with MandA transactions, including compliance with antitrust, securities, and corporate laws.
  • Excellent knowledge of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities to inform strategic decisions and target identification.
  • Knowledge of postmerger integration methodologies, best practices, and challenges to ensure a smooth transition of acquired companies.
  • Excellent knowledge of negotiation
