Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in relevant built-environment field and a post graduate degree at master's level, or accreditation as a professional civil or structural engineer, architect, or quantity surveyor.
  • Familiarity with public sector infrastructure programme management frameworks.
  • Possession of professional certification in project management or supply chain management would be advantageous.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the built environment, with at least 5 years in a senior management or portfolio management position.
  • Proven track record in overseeing planning, procurement, delivery, and monitoring of infrastructure construction projects.
  • Knowledge of the National Treasury Standard for Infrastructure Procurement and Delivery Management (SIPDM) implementation is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and guiding the sourcing, planning, and execution of infrastructure programmes for public sector and partner institutions.
  • Driving the engagement of the organization as a partner in infrastructure programme management with national, provincial, and local government entities, as well as other partner institutions involved in social, economic, and essential services infrastructure.
  • Engaging in business development, implementing infrastructure programme delivery management systems, strategizing infrastructure development planning, executing infrastructure projects, monitoring progress, managing client and stakeholder relationships, and overseeing contract operations.
  • Ensuring effective revenue generation from services provided, establishing a sustainable revenue flow, and operating the service unit in a commercially viable and growth-oriented manner.
  • The business unit's operations should support the Corporation's development goals by seeking external funding for infrastructure initiatives from various sources, including local, national, and international bodies, such as the national treasury's budget facility for infrastructure (BFI). Additionally, the unit should aim to achieve a sustainable institutional operating surplus.
