This includes conducting training; assessment & invigilation as well as drive the development and expansion of the faculty offerings and its delivery methods.


Position Duties & Responsibilities

  • Facilitating student learning through interactive teaching that promotes student engagement and support the student learning experience.
  • Setting and conducting of assessments, marking, and providing meaningful feedback.
  • Contributing to programme and content development, and improvement of resources.
  • Undertaking relevant academic administration activities.
  • Ensuring a positive student experience, providing student support, and maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Maintaining strong working relationships within the department and with other departments.
  • Prepare Comprehensive briefs and marking schedules are available to students at the start of the project. Briefs include aims, learning outcomes, submission requirements, assessment criteria, references, and additional resources.
  • Keep themselves informed and abreast of developments in their field.
  • Inform students about the assessment methods, procedures and regulations as contained in briefs and the assessment policy.
  • The lecturer is perceived as fair, approachable and supportive.
  • Promote student success through initiatives that see improved student retention and throughput rates.
  • Identify atrisk students and implement strategies to assist these students.
  • Build and maintain communities of learning and communities of practice.

Application Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Civil Engineering) is preferred.
  • At least 3 years' experience in teaching and learning environment. It is expected that the incumbent will currently be working in an academic role.
  • Ability to teach, develop content, and conduct assessment.
  • Registered Assessor and Moderator would be advantageous.
