Job requirements:

Matric or years of allround transformer assembly experience
Experience in repairs will be advantageous.
Crane license will be beneficial.
OLTC experience will be beneficial.
Must be able to communicate with the supervisors.
Must be able to follow instructions.
Must be able to assist with collecting materials from stores.
Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm as well as the willingness to assist with all tasks.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
To be detailed oriented.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
The ability to work under pressure.
A keen sense of urgency and a willingness to learn additional jobrelated skills.
Be able to work the night shift, overtime, and at times unsupervised.
Must have the ability to work with manufacturing terminology.
Required to work beyond normal working hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Job responsibilities:

Tanking and detanking of transformers from 315MVA up to 10MVA.
Identify phase connections (Star & Delta)
Connections of phases using cable sizes: 50mm, 100mm & 185mm as well as busbars from 20×5 to 100×10.
Wiring of Buchholz relays, thermometer pockets & CT's.
Use a hand drill, angle grinder, drill press, or bench grinder.
Drain and fill transformer oil into and out of the tank,
Store tools and machinery as well as housekeeping
