Key Responsibilities
To implement, maintain and enforce the Company's operating plans for:

  • QHSE Management
  • Safety and Health
  • Environmental Compliance
  • Legal and Ethical compliance
  • Training
  • Maintenance of Compliance Codes
To serve as the Intertek Divisions Health, Safety, Environmental & QHSE custodian within Southern Africa. Ensure that work practices are constructed and conducted safely and ensure all hazards are identified and controlled. Cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships.

Responsible for management of and liaison with QHSE auditors to acquire/maintain Company's accreditations.

Conduct audits to evaluate the effectiveness of systems and procedures, identifying and assisting implementing improvements.

Report on Company's QHSE performance to the leadership team and statutory authorities as/when required.


Maintain awareness of evolving industry QHSE regulations and best practice and how they could be applied to the Company's operations.


  • Assist the leadership team to develop, manage and monitor the QHSE performance of the company.
  • Monitor and advise on all QHSE matters, issues and concerns to ensure Company compliance with statutory requirements, Company and contractual requirements and good industry practice.
  • Liaise with Customers and Supply Chain, regarding QHSE matters, ensuring their expectations are met.
  • Responsible for Company's QHSE processes and procedures to ensure the Company maintains its accreditations.
  • Responsible for management of and liaison with QHSE auditors to acquire/maintain Company's accreditations
  • Conduct audits to evaluate the effectiveness of systems and procedures, identifying and assisting implementing improvements

Professional Qualities

  • Proven QHSE professional from a highly regulated industry such as Oil & Gas.
  • Excellent and topical knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
  • Strong leadership skills to constantly drive safety and quality improvements.
  • A "handson" implementer of processes and change
  • Consistently acknowledges and appreciates each team member's contributions.
  • Motivates team to work together in the most efficient manner.
  • Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members.
  • Mitigates team conflict and communication problems.
  • Excellent motivational and people skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Management skills.
  • Full current driving license.
  • Ability to maintain Company integrity through confidentiality and discretion.
  • Ability to promote the Company and associated organisations.

Required Minimum Experience/ Qualification & Knowledge
Grade 12 plus Diploma in QA supported with at least 5-10 years' work experience.

Analytical Chemistry Diploma/Degree (Advantageous)

Up to date ISO-Certification knowledge

Code B Driver's License.
