We are currently seeking a Financial Controller to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a proactive and independent/self-reliant problem solver who can handle a wide range of finance responsibilities.

Financial Controller duties include ensuring accuracy and efficiency of operations, processing and monitoring incoming payments, and securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts.

The role requires a direct interface with external and internal customers as well as Management and accurate processing and reporting will play an important role in keeping all informed on any debtor at any given time and ensuring a healthy cash flow for the Titan Group

The Financial Controller reports to Finance Manager.

Duties:

  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Internal Controls: Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of strong internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets. Assist in the implementation of financial policies, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Internal interaction to ensure intercompany cross charges are done monthly
  • Collaborate in the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Contribute to yearend audits and ensure compliance
  • Address basic accounting queries and provide timely solutions
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are
- accounted for and properly posted

  • Review payment allocations and address them with the debtors/creditors' controllers
- responsible for the validity, accuracy and completeness of transactions processed in the accounting records in a consistent manner

  • Responsible for maintaining the nominal ledger, including nominal journals (accruals, prepayments, etc)
  • Work closely with the Operations team on issues related to the accuracy of accounting records and financial reporting.
  • Providing input for financial forecasting purposes.
  • Participate in the annual budget preparation as directed by the FM
  • Providing feedback to the financial manager on any problems

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years in a Financial Accounting role (supply chain or logistics industry experience preferred)
  • SAICA/SAIPA/CIMA articles (highly advantageous)
  • Degree or Diploma/ B. Tech Cost Accounting, Bcom Accounting or Management Accounting (essential)
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and bank reconciliations
  • Experience working with a large creditors book
  • Experience in processing payments
  • Good leadership skills with a handson approach.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office software, especially strong in Excel.
  • Ability to handle multiple challenging priorities and assignments.
