Our client in the freight and logistics sector requires a Project Manager, Solutions in East London

Description:


This role is responsible for delivering assigned projects on time, on budget and within the agreed scope andquality levels within the companies governance framework.

To do this, the role has to interface with all projectstakeholders. The PM works closely with internal/external clients to consult on client requirements, expectation

Mininum requirements

  • Project Management experience: >/= 8 years in logistics environment, supply chain management;
  • Logistics Operational Management experience: > 1 years with demonstrated knowledge of best practices;
  • Leadership experience in Project or Operations role: > 5 years with effective staff performance management& development;
  • Facilitation skills: > 5 years effective experience in leading & influencing a diverse group through planningand/or problem solving activities for effective outcomes;
  • Financial: > 3 years effective experience in developing budgets & managing actual versus budget, includingCAPEX, OPEX and P&L's;
  • Contractual: > 3 years' experience in directly supporting contract and service level development andnegotiations with clients and vendors
  • Road Logistics Best Practice: w.r.t. operational processes
  • Unendorsed license & own transport;
  • Ability to travel around Eastern Cape, South Africa;
  • Excellent written & verbal communications skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills & able to work in a collaborative & teambased environment;
  • Ability to employ effective problemsolving abilities;
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented, high work rate & quality of work;
  • General business acumen and sound knowledge of procurement principles, engineering economics andfundamental accounting principles;
  • Warehouse Design and Configuration aligned to Best Practices, OHS and

Legal Compliance:
Extensiveknowledge and experience;

  • Applied negotiation skills
  • Applied risk management skills
  • Supply Chain Management accreditation such as CSCP, SCOR-P, etc
  • Application software development experience with strong IT acumen will be beneneficial
  • Change Management certification, e.g. ProSCI Practitioner

Education Profile:

Matric or equivalent

TERTIARY QUALIFICATION :
Essential
Pre degree in Project Management or foundational level certification in either Prince2 or PMBoKrequired
MA degree in Project Management or Advanced certification in Prince 2/Managing Successful Projects(MSP).PMP will be an advantage.
Degree in Industrial Engineering or Transport Management/Economics or relevant five year qualificationfrom accredited institution

COMPUTER LITERACY LEVEL :
MS Suite - Advanced

ADDITIONAL COMPUTER SKILLS:
Microsoft Project (advanced)
Excel (advanced)
Project Portfolio management software (such as Clarity, PPO, etc.)
