Job responsibilities:

  • Study a design brief
  • Brainstorm a collection of possible solutions.
  • Research whether a design will be feasible. This process should assess the practicality of fabrication as well as the cost efficiency of the idea
  • Create complete 3D Prototypes of the suggested design conceptsthese prototypes should incorporate different materials and fastening systems to closely resemble the final realworld manifestation.
  • Perform Finite Element Analysis of the prototype to collect data pertaining to the feasibility of the design.
  • Write reports detailing the findings from the FEA and present them to the engineering team
  • Modify designs as required and repeat the FEA/reporting process until all relevant parties are satisfied with the design proposal.
  • Get material quotes to create and submit budgets for approval.
  • Aid, as instructed, with any tasks that might arise
