**Design Engineer - Boat Building Industry**

As a Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for creating detailed drawings from concept to final production files for Multicam. This includes compiling a Bill of Materials for all required materials like plates, extrusions, wood, and foam.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Must hold an Engineering Degree
  • At least 3 years of experience in the boat building sector
  • Proficiency in CAD drawing and CAM software
  • Familiarity with boat construction and metal building techniques
  • Skilled in Rhinoceros software
  • Understanding of Quality Standards and meeting deadlines
  • Knowledge of statutory regulations for small craft construction
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new vessels
  • Conduct buoyancy and hydrostatic analysis
  • Calculate vessel weights
  • Prepare detailed production drawings
  • Create cutting patterns for the manufacturing department
  • Support production team with building techniques
  • Collaborate with Sales on innovative concepts
  • Interact with SAMSA for new vessel projects
  • Produce draft drawings using various references
  • Assist in ensuring quality and compliance during inspection
  • Continuously explore improved building methods
  • Research new products for future developments
