Job Responsibilities/Objectives My client are seeking an enthusiastic, focused engineer with a passion for embedded systems, particularly telemetry solutions, to join our small and efficient team of systems, hardware, and embedded software engineers.

Your role will be crucial in driving the development of a new telemetry system, including components such as data loggers and telemetry radios, throughout the testing phase.

You will have a high level of input into system design, field validation, and deployment.
During the testing and validation phase, you will attend approximately 30% of major events to provide on-site support.

Post-deployment, you will act as the subject matter expert, offering field support to operational teams at about 50% of major events.

You will work at the Media and Technology Centre, further enhancing and improving the system based on feedback from the field.

You will collaborate with other engineering and operational teams to ensure the telemetry systems meet performance and reliability requirements.

Your responsibilities will also include maintaining and supporting both the current and new telemetry systems, troubleshooting issues, and liaising with regulatory bodies, teams, and internal senior stakeholders during events.

You will monitor and analyse telemetry data to identify performance issues and areas for improvement.

To keep our telemetry system at the forefront of technology, you will need to stay updated on the latest telemetry technologies and best practices, recommending new technologies and approaches to the team.

Required Skills/Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following:
Educated to degree level (or equivalent vocational and industry experience) in electronics engineering or a suitable equivalent.

Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, including requirements analysis, system architecture, and system verification and validation, with experience in embedded systems development and support, especially full life-cycle.

Experience designing or deploying/operating Radio Frequency based telemetry systems.
Working with networking and serial protocols, video encoding and transmission protocols and RF systems.
Experience with electronics hardware and software design principles.

Developing Linux kernel drivers or for an RTOS.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, liaise with suppliers, and work with multiple external stakeholders.

Python, C, and Linux.
Excellent planning skills, including the ability to prioritise and multi-task effectively.
Strong ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation including requirement specifications, test plans, and test reports. Desirable Skills/Experience

Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

Experience with data acquisition and analysis software.
Knowledge of regulations and standards, such as FIA or SAE.
