  • Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after each trip, reporting any mechanical issues or deficiencies to the maintenance team.
  • Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules, considering factors such as traffic, road conditions, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, mileage, and other relevant information using logbooks and electronic tracking systems.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, fellow drivers, and customers to provide updates on delivery progress and address any issues that arise.
  • Provide exceptional customer service during interactions with clients at delivery and pickup locations.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as all transportation regulations, including weight restrictions and vehicle dimensions.
  • Respond calmly and effectively to unexpected situations such as traffic delays, vehicle breakdowns, and inclement weather.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Code 10 or Code 14 driver's license with PDP
  • Proven experience as a commercial driver, with a clean driving record and no history of serious traffic violations.
  • Strong understanding of road safety and traffic regulations, with the ability to prioritize safety at all times.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interactions with team members, clients, and other road users.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting, and the ability to perform minor repairs when necessary.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to handle the physical demands of loading and unloading cargo.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage delivery schedules, complete paperwork accurately, and keep detailed records.
  • Ability to work independently while adhering to company guidelines and protocols.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and unexpected challenges.
  • Professional demeanor and a positive attitude when representing the company to clients and the public.
