An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Materials Planner within a heavy manufacturing company based in Gauteng.

  • The successful incumbent for this position will be responsible for:
  • To control the master data settings related to MRP in SAP to optimize the stock levels for the standard and engineering plants to obtain the correct service levels and product to satisfy the demands of all our customers.
  • To monitor and adjust the forecasting system to constantly improve the accuracy of all requirements.
  • To achieve a constant flow of raw materials to satisfy the production requirements.
  • To liaise with purchasing department to improve the ontime delivery from our vendors.
  • To liaise with quality control and purchasing to identify substandard vendors.
  • To set up and run daily, weekly, and monthly control reports.
  • To control the materials management function by use of exception reporting.
  • To advise Senior Management of the status of capacities and space availability to achieve the company objectives into the future.
  • To make all employees fully aware of their responsibility and obligations to Health and Safety.
  • To ensure all employees wear protective equipment always provided.
  • Comply with all Policies and Procedures.
  • To resolve all employees related problems timelessly.
  • Assist fellow employees with daily functions as and when required.
  • Carry out all other reasonable tasks that may be delegated from time to time.

Requirements:

  • 35 years' experience in pump manufacturing environment
  • Diploma in Production Management
  • SAP knowledge
  • Essential
  • Computer literate Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to manage time and be punctual.
  • Valid driver's license
