  • Grade 12 Senior Certificate
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator will be advantageous.
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or equivalent will be advantageous.
  • Azure Administrator will be advantageous.
Minimum Experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in supporting Windows Server operating systems in an enterprise or corporate environment.
  • Extensive experience in VMWare vSphere.
  • Understanding Storage Area Networks.
Fujitsu Eternus knowledge will be beneficial.

  • A working knowledge of server hardware installation and configurations.
Fujitsu Primergy experience will be beneficial.

  • A working understanding of LAN and WAN services and configurations.
  • A working understanding of networks and services like DNS, DHCP, IIS and LDAP
  • Knowledge of Microsoft cloud technologies such as Azure Active Directory, Microsoft 365 (Intune, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Teams,), Microsoft Office M365 Office in an enterprise or corporate environment will be beneficial.
  • Experience in ITIL, change management procedures.
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell and other scripting technologies.
  • Linux knowledge will be beneficial.
Deliverables include, but will not be limited to

  • Ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house server environment.
This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, updating, supporting, and optimizing all networked software, hardware and associated operating systems.

  • Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
  • Install, configure, update, and maintain Windows Server Operating Systems.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure efficient resolution of technical problems.
  • Document all support activities, solutions, and configurations for future reference.
  • Willingness to be available and work after hours when necessary to minimize business downtime and resolve issues within maintenance window periods.
  • Monthly standby to be performed as part of the IT Infrastructure team.
  • Participates in various IT projects intended to continually improve/upgrade the system infrastructure, ensuring change management procedures and methodologies are implemented and followed.
  • Working with 3rd Party vendors to ensure all hardware firmware is kept up to date.
  • Working with 3rd Party vendors to ensure hardware failures are attended to, to ensure highly available solutions.
