Duration of Contract: 5-year fixed term

Main purpose of the job To provide technical expertise on Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC) implementation services. Ensure CCM and DREAMS component is comprehensively coordinated, whilst maximizing stakeholder engagement for broad bidirectional referral and linkages which promotes layering of complementary services for impactful services and progressive outcomes. Monitor and report on CCM and DREAMS program achievements that highlight the key lessons learned in program implementation. Communicate daily with district OVC team to ensure they are all meeting daily set targets

Key performance areas - Provide general administration, and overall programmatic technical support of OVC CCM through, program planning, monitoring, and reporting. - Manage and coordinate CCM stream program activities and outputs as per guide by MatCH and sponsor/ funder (USAID) in line with treatment and care of OVC program requirements. - Manage and coordinate project activities and outputs as per GCP protocol, regulatory and sponsor requirements for CCM pediatric/ adolescent focused projects. - Ensure clinical goals of the program are successfully implemented in all EC implementing districts. - Facilitate link to DOH (Health Facilities) and district partners including DREAMS Partners in all OVC CCM implementing districts. - Attend Provincial meetings and support District meetings: DOH and stakeholders meetings including PAC, DAC, and LAC meetings. - Establish and maintain good working relationships with facility-based care and treatment teams to ensure seamless beneficiary support on clinical care. - Monitor and support reporting of the cascade this including known HIV status, linkage and retention in treatment, viral loads for all beneficiaries and negotiating establishment of youth adherence clubs in the supported facilitiesand the communities to enhance retention in care working with MatCH and all relevant local partners & CBO's. - Ensuring reporting of OVC_HIVSTAT and clinical data for OVC CCM. - Strengthening the multidisciplinary linkage and coordination with DOH, DSD, DREAMS Partners and other stakeholders - Support the validation of CLHIV's within all CCM districts. - Ensure provision of a differentiated package of services to the CLHIV through field implementing teams. - Provide weekly and monthly reports on teams' activities, outputs, challenges, and mitigating plans. - Ensure the field teams are capacitated to perform their duties through their district-based support structure. - Support the District programme managers to implement agile quality improvement activities and plans in response to changing project needs through continuous monitoring and oversight of annual work and performance plans. - Ensure knowledge and adherence of policies, protocols and SOPs to all OVC implementing team for program smooth running. - Network to form strategic relationships with all relevant partners for program success.

Required minimum education, training, and technical support - Relevant Degree/Diploma qualification in Social Sciences/ Health

  • Nursing/degree is recommended.
- Unendorsed driving license is required

  • HPCSA/ SACSSP (if applicable).

Minimum work experience - At least four years of experience of working in the areas of HIV and TB, public health and community program. - Good knowledge of comprehensive HIV treatment and care. - At least four experience in working on implementing multi-faceted health programs, with preference to 4 years of experience working in international donor funded projects in a programmatic capacity.

Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities - Working knowledge in Good Clinical Practices - Advanced knowledge of HIV, TB and DREAMS and differentiated care programs (district, facility and community levels) and activities/requirements related thereto. - Knowledge of national and provincial health structures - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint - Knowledge in HIV Management - Training in leadership and management - Excellent time management skills. - Excellent project management, organizational and coordination skills.
Experience in training, facilitation and material development. - Good written and verbal communication skills. - Report writing ability. - Management/supervisory skills (team management). - Conflict resolution skills. - Proficiency in English and isiXhosa. - Clean criminal record.
