  • Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • BTech / Honors Degree in Information Technology / Computer or any related discipline in Computing Science
  • At least two (2) years' relevant project management in an IT environment.

Recommendations:

  • Leadership Skills
  • A knowledge of the CET sector will serve as an additional recommendation, particularly understanding the quality assurance processes of the sector. Demonstrate the ability to successfully run an ICT business or business unit.
  • A project management certification will be an added advantage.
  • A background in training and development is a strong recommendation.
  • Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
  • Project Management of the CET Digital Transformation Project
  • Coordinate the exchange of requirements knowledge and other project deliverables among all project participants.
  • Keep all participants informed about the body of requirements knowledge, priorities, status, and changes.
  • Communicate the requirements back to the sources for verification and to those who will base their work on the requirements.
  • Communicate with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and vocabularies
  • Assess, classify, and record all requirements in appropriate written forms.
  • Specifically, the project manager must determine:
  • What information stakeholders need to see
  • When stakeholders need to see the information
  • How much detail the stakeholders need
  • How the stakeholders prefer to receive information
  • How the stakeholders want written information to be organized
  • Monitor and improve the project plan
  • Producing project progress report
  • Producing regular project budget updates
  • Engage professionals outside of CPUT, including managing contracts and performance
  • Provide training and mentorship to any students or recent graduates who will engage with the project
  • Communicate with other relevant CPUT departments to achieve project goals
  • Provide direction to project activities
  • Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department
