Our client is seeking an Executive Housekeeper responsible for overseeing and maintaining the cleanliness of their upscale 5-star Hotel with 38 luxury suites in Johannesburg North.


Qualifications

  • Essential leadership experience in a 5star Boutique Hotel environment is required.

Skills

Operational:

  • Supervise daily cleaning tasks of the housekeeping team.
  • Ensure professional appearance and courteous service from housekeeping staff.
  • Plan and maintain duty rosters, monitor timekeeping, and address absenteeism.
  • Ensure daily cleaning of rooms and public areas.
  • Monitor adherence to allocated cleaning times.
  • Regularly check rooms for repairs and refurbishing.
  • Participate in facetoface meetings with housekeeping staff.
  • Notify Resident Manager of areas requiring decor.
  • Maintain company and statutory hygiene standards.
  • Conduct regular fire and evacuation drills.
  • Familiarity with all Health and Safety measures.

Stock Control:

  • Order, store, and issue housekeeping supplies and equipment.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly stock takes.
  • Mandatory presence for monthly stock takes.
  • Tight control over housekeeping supplies.
  • Prepare and submit required information for budgetary purposes.

Management:

  • Participate in daily preparation of housekeeping schedules.
  • Check duty rosters, ensure coverage, and monitor timekeeping and absenteeism.
  • Full responsibility in the absence of Head Housekeeper/Supervisors.
  • Assist with completing housekeeping requisitions.
  • Implement and enforce housekeeping policies and procedures.
  • Address and resolve escalated complaints promptly.

Learning and Development:

  • Identify development, training, and recruitment needs.
  • Ensure regular OntheJob training for housekeeping staff.
  • Ensure staff under your control are trained in Health and Safety measures.

Customer Service:

  • Ensure service quality meets company standards.
  • Investigate and promptly address complaints about housekeeping services.
  • Actively listen and resolve guests' complaints.
