The Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Network engineer with a focus on Security, particularly with expertise in Fortinet technologies.

Please note that this role is based in Cape Town and it's a 6-month contract opportunity.

Skills and Experience

inimum Qualification:

Diploma/Degree in Information Technology Fortinet

Experience Required:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in network engineering, with a strong emphasis on security technologies, specifically Fortinet. Strong experience and proficiency in Fortinet products, including FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiAuthenticator, etc. In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching. Solid understanding of network security principles, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation. Familiarity with network monitoring tools and technologies. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with different teams and stakeholders effectively.

Responsibilities:

Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure with a primary focus on security using Fortinet products and solutions. Implement and manage firewall policies, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security measures to protect the company's network from threats and vulnerabilities. Troubleshoot and resolve network security-related issues and incidents promptly. Monitor network performance and security, ensuring optimal operation and adherence to security best practices. Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of security solutions within the network infrastructure. Perform regular security audits and assessments to identify potential risks and implement necessary improvements. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices related to Fortinet security technologies.
