Job responsibilities:

SHES (SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT, SECURITY)

PRODUCTION

  • Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the mining and plant systems
  • Ensure maintenance plans and targets are achieved safely, economically and within the environmental limits of the systems
  • Responsible for equipment inspections
  • Carry out fault diagnostics and rectifying where required
  • Be fully conversant with instrument loop drawings and P&IDs

REPORTING

  • Ensure all reporting within the Maintenance Management system is effective, accurate and followed through to completion promptly
  • Management of instrument calibrations and keeping required records

TEAMWORK

  • Work alongside other functions as necessary
  • Be proactive and creative in problem solving and demonstrate initiative

Specific Requirements/Additional information

  • The Instrument Technician is responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing and maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control the mining and plant systems (engineering systems, machinery and processes). And to repair, test, adjust, install and commission electronic equipment such as industrial controls, transmitters and antennas.
