Quantitative Analyst: Credit Risk and Analytics
Job Purpose
To improve the use of credit analytics across Group Risk, aiding in managing the credit portfolio actively to enhance returns and align with Nedbank's strategy and risk appetite.
The role involves specializing in credit portfolio analytics, driving the development of an analytics framework, including:
Job Responsibilities
- Creating and maintaining strategic analytical tools within the Credit Data Systems team.
- Providing MI, analysis, and recommendations for portfolio initiatives.
- Monitoring and measuring success of portfolio initiatives regularly.
- Enhancing asset returns analysis.
- Conducting in-depth credit portfolio analytics.
- Driving Active Credit Portfolio Management.
- Analyzing Credit Capital and ECAP.
- Providing asset Market share analytics.
- Refining loss forecasting and stress testing approaches.
- Contributing to Nedbank's methodologies on regulatory capital and impairments.
- Assisting with Group-wide submissions for disclosures.
- Developing risk appetite measurement methodology.
- Utilizing Advanced credit portfolio management for proactive Credit Risk views.
- Contributing to the GRA Manco team.
- Staying updated on industry developments for personal and professional growth.
- Embracing Nedbank's vision and values.
- Building stakeholder relationships internally and externally.
- Sharing knowledge and insights within the team.
- Conceptualizing and executing cooperative projects.
- Mentoring junior team members.
- 2+ years' experience in credit risk (e.g., Basel or IFRS9 modeling, analytics, or pricing).
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees.
- Graduate degree in Mathematics, Financial Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a quantitative discipline, or a Chartered Accountant with credit risk experience.
