Core Description

The Enterprise Solutions Architect collaborates with clients (external & internal) to understand and address business needs. They work with internal digital and technology teams to develop solutions, present prototypes, and minimum viable products (MVPs) for client evaluation. These customized solutions are financially modeled and presented to leadership. The role involves overseeing solution design, technical architecture, security aspects, infrastructure, database, system and application design, development, integration, and testing for industry-specific business solutions. The Enterprise Solutions Architect is responsible for defining, coordinating, and maintaining the Enterprise Architecture Principles and Standard Components used by the organization for information system-related activities.

Key Deliverables/Primary Functions
  • Establishing and managing processes for defining, maintaining, and ensuring compliance with the Enterprise Architecture.
  • Keeping key Enterprise Architecture documentation up to date.
  • Engaging in pre-sales activities, creating proposals, developing solution architectures, and leading client briefings and workshops.
  • Assisting client engagement teams in responding to market bids and commercial inquiries.
  • Conducting scoping workshops with clients and internal teams.
  • Building and maintaining relationships within client organizations to understand their business processes, drivers, requirements, and solution strategies.
  • Providing leadership in resolving cross-program and cross-project issues.
  • Leading the development of Enterprise Architecture.
  • Creating and coordinating Enterprise Architecture Plans.
  • Ensuring compliance with Enterprise Architecture standards.
  • Advising senior management on business information integration strategies.
  • Offering expertise in TOGAF and Scaled Agile methodologies and mentoring other architects.
  • Specializing in private and public cloud computing.
  • Collaborating with different teams to optimize framework boundaries and enhance framework-level APIs.
  • Developing a common component inventory and identifying high-use framework components.
  • Contributing to the creation of new high-value framework components for development teams.
  • Exploring innovative solution ideas with various technology teams.
Core Functional Knowledge/Skills

The role requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, group facilitation, team leadership, marketing abilities, analysis and design expertise, and experience in developing models based on recognized Enterprise Architecture frameworks.

Competencies/Behaviour

The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of technology, proficiency in modelling technologies from a business perspective, influencing business strategy, translating business strategy into technology-transformable strategies, and communicating effectively with both business and technology leaders.

Minimum Requirements

The Enterprise Architect should have at least 10 years of planning and analysis experience with clients, a diverse business background, proficiency in building models using Enterprise Architecture Frameworks, and preferably an Honours or Masters Degree in a related field.

Qualifications
  • Must have an Honours or master's degree in computer science or related field.
Experience
  • 10+ years of working directly with clients, account management, and demonstrated leadership in a consulting or professional services environment.
  • Experience in managing multiple technology solutions.
Certification/Professional Registration
  • Hold industry-recognized certifications in Enterprise Frameworks and cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google.
