ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a permanent full-time position.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

  • Designs and owns technical standards and governance practices applicable to the smelters;
  • Designs and executes governance for relevant technical areas such as raw material qualification;
  • Executes the Level 2 technical governance audits for the South32 Aluminium smelters across relevant production areas of technical stewardship (e.g. Reduction, Carbon, Casthouse, Projects, Life of Operations Plan (LoOP);
  • Provides technical support to the South32 Aluminium smelters, Projects design/ expansions, relating to relevant technical stewardship areas in Reduction, Carbon, Casthouse;
  • Provides guidance to Senior Leadership on technical risk management and relevant mitigating actions for the South32 global Aluminium Operations at Hillside, MOZAL and Alumar.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  • Minimum 15 years' experience with Aluminium Pechiney AP30+ technology, which include: Reduction experience (required),Carbon Plant experience (required),Casthouse (optional) and Gas treatment plants (optional);
  • Depth of applied technical knowledge from working in Aluminium smelting operational context.

Qualifications for this role are**:

  • Relevant technical Degree (Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering);
  • Commercial/Business Degree/Diploma will be highly regarded.
