Our client who specializes in tailoring client-specific travel experiences, is looking for a Travel Consultant to join their team, based in Montagu, Western Cape.

This is a home-based/remote working position.

Calling all romantic adventurers, passionate travellers, and disruptive explorers - qui parle français couramment. The client specializes in travel, differently, and better. Challenging themselves to create a magical experience for their guests at every single turn. After building a strong foundation they are now looking to grow their small merry band of passionate travellers and travel designers with a destination specialist who speaks fluent French.

This job is for you if:

You are a self-motivated autonomous and fiery destination specialist/travel consultant who speaks French and is fluent in English.

You have the legal right and visas required to live and work in South Africa.

You have an insatiable wanderlust and you live and breathe a passion for travel. They can teach you how to design a magical itinerary but passion cannot be taught so please make sure you have bags full of it.

A bright smile, a positive outlook on life, and an eagerness to learn.

An understanding of what makes excellent customer service and knowing how to give guests what they themselves do not even know they want.

At least 3 years or more experience in the travel industry designing itineraries.

A good knowledge of Southern and Eastern Africa and the Indian Ocean islands is a major bonus.

Strong knowledge of Wetu itinerary software is a huge plus.

And once again the following is imperative: vous devez pouvoir parler français couramment et d'avoir un visa à jour qui vous donne le droit de travailler sur le sol Sud Africain.

Minimum Requirements:

It is absolutely crucial that you are fluent in both English and French
.

Experience as a travel consultant:
minimum 3 years.

Tertiary education.

Driven for success and achieving goals.

Loves being in a team and playing nicely together.

Detailed knowledge of SA and other Southern and Eastern African countries is a massive bonus.

Great writing and communication skills.

Outgoing and warm personality.

Great organisational and admin skills.

Excellent attention to detail.

Great phone manner for dealing directly with guests.

Experience with MS Office and Wetu itinerary software.

Above average computer literacy (ideally on Mac).

Experience with social media is a bonus.

A heart for adventure and extraordinary experiences.

Remuneration & Benefits:

R20,000/month gross (negotiable based on experience and skill).

3% commission on total invoices excl. VAT.

15 days paid leave per year.

1x local educational trip within South Africa per year

1x international educational trip per year (to countries the company focuses on).

Cell phone allowance (data and airtime).

Staff travel discounts through partners and airlines.
