The Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) is a global network of organizations that propel entrepreneurship in developing economies.

ANDE members provide critical financial, educational, and business support services to small and growing businesses (SGBs) based on the conviction that SGBs create jobs, stimulate long-term economic growth, and produce environmental and social benefits.

ANDE's Southern Africa chapter is headquartered in Johannesburg and serves over 102 members across Southern Africa. The Southern Africa chapter aims to create a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region.

The Job Specification:

Purpose

Memberships

  • Lead onboarding calls and checkin calls as well as manage ongoing interaction/communication with new/current members.
  • Support global staff based in regional chapters with technical assistance, general membership related questions, and content specific information for members based in their region.
  • Build relationship with members and facilitating connections between the network.

Programs**- Support the chapters communications day-to-day work including sourcing of social media content and drafting of social media communications toolkits.

  • Run event logistics (virtual and inperson), including setting up the event page, recommending appropriate venues, webinar support on Zoom, event promotion, notetaking, registering attendees, and updating campaigns.
  • Contribute to the creation of thoughtleadership content relevant to entrepreneurship development.
  • Draft and conceptualizing proposals and concept notes for new programs and research initiatives.
  • Communicate and working with internal and external teams (consultants) as required to support desktop research, sourcing and collection of data and data analysis.
  • Help to structure programming and working with implementation staff to ensure quality delivery of program and tracking allocations and budgets to ensure projects are within budget.
  • Support in any other role and tasks as needed.
  • Understanding the basic principles of operations and support functionalities.
  • Great computer proficiency (working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Effective oral and writing skills, including the ability to synthesize information.
  • High proficiency in the English language is a must (demonstrable).
  • Enjoys supporting the team and members for the ultimate goal of building a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem in developing countries to alleviate poverty.


This role requires an individual who can balance strong attention to detail and analytical skills with an engaging, consultative, relationship-focused approach to working with people.

The individual should be a true team player, thrive in a small team and startup environment, where the duty is on you to make it work and be able to multitask and work independently and collaboratively to meet weekly, monthly, and quarterly deadlines.
